Dragon Demolishes Delaney

Matthew Stevens came through with a professional performance to make short work of Joe Delaney.
The damage was done in the first session, when the ‘Welsh Dragon” strolled to a 7-2 lead against his overawed opponent.
Delaney, who beat Alan McManus to qualify for his first appearance at the Crucible, had little time to make amends. The Irishman only scored another 15 points as Stevens quickly knocked off the three frames he needed to make the second round.
