Higgins In A Hurry

John Higgins 13 – 4 Fergal O’Brien

John Higgins took just 17 minutes to win the frame he needed to book his place in the quarter-finals.

The match was won over the first two sessions, which were both won 6-2 by the Scot. A break of 56 got him over the winning line, giving him extra time to prepare for his next match.

The win puts the world number four in the World Championship quarter-finals for the first time in four years. To reach his first semi-final since 2000, Higgins will have to overcome Ronnie O’Sullivan in what could be a spectacular match, which begins this afternoon.
