Ebdon V King
We like Mark King. He is a battler, a bruiser and won't win without a fight.
No, we havent got that wrong, while most players will not lose without a fight, King is the other way around. He has never made life easy for himself and has ground out wins throughout his career.
This one is likely to be no different. If there is a player more determined than King, it is Ebdon (and possibly Dott!). The Dubai resident will be happy to slug it out frame-for-frame.
Therefore, it could go down to the wire. Both players showed signs of good form in their openers, and might feel equally relieved to be in round two.
Ebdon, despite being favourite, might easily have gone out to highly rated Cope and King was given virtually no chance against The Master, Selby.
A couple of century breaks later though and King is lining up for a place in the quarters, somewhere he has never been before. It is a close-call and while we would love to see King in the last eight, Ebdon's intensity might all just get a bit much for the Essex man.
