Mods and potters 2007

MODS and POTTERS makes Maxi-MUM Break!

The MODS and POTTERS tournament held at Pontin’s involved MUMS or DADS (MODS) partnering a junior player. Using our unique online formula, each team was awarded a cuefactor “handicap”, giving everyone an equal chance of winning.

The normal dress code for snooker was relaxed but players wore their cuefactor skill bands with pride.

And it certainly proved to be a popular new addition to the Pontin’s snooker schedule that dates back nearly 40 years, with 160 players taking part in the first event of its kind.

Players were encouraged to name their teams and it was The Scarlet Sospans, Llanelli-based Jamie Clarke and Phillip Williams, who overcame Chesterfield’s Tomoli 147, Thomas Brown and his father Andrew, in an entertaining final.

The Sospans walked away with an armful of prizes, including trophies, a cue signed by leading professionals and a limited edition print of the Perfect Game, signed by 1980 world champion, Cliff Thorburn.
