Kids Into Snooker

What is KIS?

Enjoyed by children, senior citizens and all ages in between, snooker is truly an activity that spans generations.

Kids Into Snooker, a partnership between Cuefactor, and The Paul Hunter Foundation, will give young people the opportunity to pick up a cue and embark on a lifetime of enjoyment.

The initial pilot programme will last for six weeks and take place in Yorkshire and South Wales. If you are not in this area, dont worry, we are already planning to extend this later in the year.

KIS will provide a safe, fun and educational environment in which the future snookering population can receive expert advice from our team of coaches and experience the game of snooker.

The course will cover;

Rules - The main rules of snooker will be taught to each junior, and learning will occur through weekly playing experience as well as through written quizzes and instructor demonstrations.

Etiquette - The main etiquette of snooker will be taught to each junior, and learning will occur through weekly playing experience as well as through written quizzes and instructor demonstrations.

Cue Action - Weekly instruction on the practise table will teach each junior the basics of a sound snooker technique. The proper grip, stance and alignment will be stressed to each student.

Potting and Safety Play - The most crucial elements of the game will be developed through a series of practice routines, skill tests and competitions.

Shots - KIS players will be able to identify and demonstrate the various shots associated with the game of snooker

'screw-back v 'follow-through'
'stun' v 'running side'

Skills - Skill tests at the end of each week will allow the 'kids' to demonstrate the lessons learned and also take them towards there next KIS Award.
