Anthony Davies turned professional in 1991, at the age of 21 after representing his country at junior and senior level.

His highest professional break was 141, in the 1999 Thailand Masters and his best performance came at the 1996 European Open, where he reached the quarter-finals.

He qualified for the final stages of the world championship on three occasions, helping him to achieve a career high ranking of 26.

He was the first player to retire from professional play while still holding a Tour Card.  Since leaving the professional circuit behind, he is concentrating on developing the skills of the next generation of players.

Davies’ has also returned successfully to the amateur game and reached the final of the Welsh Championship in 2007.  This qualified him to compete in the IBSF world championship in Thailand where he reached the last eight.
