Round 1 - Head to Head

No player has ever successfully defended the world title at their first attempt. It is also nine years since anyone won the event preceding the world championship and walked away from The Crucible with the trophy.  These two facts combined make it look like Mission impossible for Dott.  However, it is a long time since the defending champion has come into the event in such good form.  Just look at the China Open cuef@cts and you will see what we mean. McCulloch is dependable, and he will give 100%, but cuef@cts says Dott’s class will tell and take him into round 2.
