SAGA INSURANCE MASTERS
January 13th - 20th
Wembley Arena
Field – Top 16 plus 3 wildcards
Defending Champion – Ronnie O’Sullivan

One of the biggest events of the year and the third leg of the BBC Grand Slam, returns to Wembley Arena.

Ronnie O’Sullivan was simply scintillating last year and finished off in style with an emphatic 10 – 3 final victory over Ding Junhui, who had made the second 147 maximum break in his first round win over Anthony Hamilton.

We won’t know the qualifiers and wild-cards for a while so who will be in contention from the top-16?

Well, if ‘the real’ O’Sullivan stands up then it is hard to see past him winning in front of his beloved London crowd.

If the ‘Rocket’ doesn’t blast off then we are looking for a player who oozes class.  The Masters Roll of Honour reads like a who’s who of snooker with Hendry, Davis, Thorburn and of course Hunter all multiple winners.

We reckon that Shaun Murphy has the class that is required and could add his name to the glittering list of winners.
