Cuefactor Threesomes
Threesomes or three-handed snooker has long been considered an awkward style of game. One player usually has to chalk up his score – what happens about free balls etc etc. Cuefactor even has an answer to that and makes it possible to create a level playing field for just 3 players. The game is actually played with one player playing alternating shots against the other two so it has the feeling of a doubles match. The Cuefactor handicapping works as follows:-
Example:
Victoria’s Cuefactor is 67.82 so her rounded-up playing handicap is 68. Chris’s Cuefactor is 75.13 and his rounded-down playing handicap is 75. Gwyneth’s is 47.99 and her rounded-up playing handicap is 48
Say Victoria is to play against Chris and Gwyneth.
Her Cuefactor is 68
Chris’s Cuefactor is 75.13 and his rounded-down playing handicap is 75. Gwyneth’s is 47.99 and her rounded-up playing handicap is 48
Their combined handicap is therefore 75 plus 48 = 123 – divide this by two and subtract from Victoria’s Cuefactor
To play the threesome take the lower score of 62 from Victorias higher score of 68 and divide by two = 6. So Victoria takes alternate turns and gives Chris and Gwyneth 7 points start!
Remember “Update Your Cuefactor” regularly to keep your cuefactor current because the difference is the point.
